Samantha is a magazine journalist with 10 years’ experience as writer and editor for titles such as Australian Good Food, Australian House & Garden, Shopping 4 Baby and CLEO. She’s a big believer that everyday food can all at once be simple, special and nourishing. Sam is also mum to a three-year-old, who happens to be her toughest food critic. Sam says her family kitchen is “the ultimate test kitchen. I’m forever trying out new family dinners that will be a hit with my little boy. It’s always a great night when he asks for more – but he’s never shy about letting me know when I’ve got it wrong!”


Amira Georgy AGAmira Georgy, Contributing Food Editor

Amira has worked for some of the best food magazines on the newsstands, including Gourmet Traveller, delicious., Australian Good Food and Super Food Ideas, as well as The Australian Women’s Weekly Test Kitchen. Her recipes are all about keeping food fast, fresh and affordable, and as mum to two children, aged 6 and 3, Amira is well prepared to meet the challenge. She says her family kitchen is “the heart of our home. Whether the kids are getting their morning fix at the breakfast bar, or my husband is waiting for his Turkish coffee, or I’m spinning out a quick family dinner, there’s never a dull moment!”

Karen Kingham, Nutrition Editor

Karen has 20 years’ experience as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and nutritionist. She’s contributed to Practical Parenting, Pregnancy & Birth, Australian Table and Australian Good Food, as well as authored the cookbooks Eat Well Live Well with High Cholesterol, Eat Well Live Well with Growing Children and Eat Well Live Well with Diabetes. At home, she tries to cook wholesome meals for her own growing kids, aged 11 and 8 – most of the time. Karen says her family kitchen is “stocked with fresh produce from our garden and local farmers’ markets, but as I juggle the commitments of my family’s busy schedules, I walk that fine line between cooking for health and convenience”.


Anneka Manning, Food Columnist

Over 23 years in food media as an author, food editor, writer, consultant, teacher and publisher, Anneka has worked for Murdoch Books, Australian Gourmet Traveller, VOGUE Entertaining + Travel, australian good taste, The Australian Women’s Weekly, Sunday Life and Good Living (now Good Food). Through her writing and Sydney-based cooking school, BakeClub, she teaches practical yet inspiring ways to bake that assure success in the kitchen. Sharing her life with her husband and two children, Anneka’s goal is to connect home cooks with the magic of baking and, through this, the people they love.

Mary-Anne joins with more than 15 years of experience marketing household names like Revlon, Holden and Berlei. She’s spent the last three years running a boutique marketing agency specialising in online brand development. Mary-Anne works closely with the editorial team, building relationships with brands that share our belief in creating healthy, happy kitchens. She connects advertisers with community, and makes sure our readers know all there is to know about the latest and best kitchen and cooking products, services and promotions.
