Launched locally in 1995 and now sold worldwide, the Salt&Pepper range is all about fashion for your home at an affordable price. Sissi Stasios, the creative mind behind this market-leading Australian design house, shares her tips for this year’s hottest trends in kitchen styling.
Spring/Summer is my favourite time of the year and the perfect opportunity to update your home, like you would your wardrobe. Time to brighten up the home accessories for the warmer weather. Keep these decorating tips top of mind:
- Select colourful accents that work to the warm base colour of your home. e.g. oranges work well with light wood tones, lime greens with darker wood tones. You can do this with vases, lamps or a statement clock.
- The kitchen is the heart of the home but sometimes people don’t consider styling the kitchen. Select a highlight colour – red, black or white and then storage canister and utensil holders in the same colour.
- Consider looking at fashion trends and applying the ones you love to your home too. This season there are three great fashion trends that can really make an impact in your home.
Black and white
Bold, graphic patterns in black and white have dominated the fashion world and we are seeing the trend taking over in home interiors. Take inspiration from this strong and impactful trend, and introduce monochromatic colours on the table and throughout your home.
There is no sign of the strong colour trend leaving the fashion world just yet. My personal favourite this season is green (which looks amazing against black and white in the home).
Fashion is the key influencer behind our collections, but from time to time other food and lifestyle trends stand out to us. This is certainly the case with the Mexican craze sweeping the country! Capture the fun and festive essence of South America with Mexican-inspired brights for the home.
